Professor Brian Cox

I was a really keen Astronomer as a kid, I've still got my telescope somewhere...but what the Professor doesn't know about the Universe, probably isn't worth knowing.

Ed Miliband

Some friends of mine went to Hyde Park in London and took part in the March For The Alternative....umm, march.  Well, any way, that's why I did this one of the Labour Leader.  I saw his Hyde Park speach on the TV in the evening.

Sketches and Doodles

For no particular reason, I decided to post these sketches and doodles. I draw like this quite a lot of the time while I'm on the phone or waiting for the microwave to do it's thing with a ready meal...
These doodles were taken from last years sketch book, sometimes I turn the rough sketches into 'Gag Strips' and sometimes I turn them into Tee Shirt designs ('The Things' have been printed, individually, on to Tee Shirts).

Past Commissions

Some commissions from the past couple of years.
The Female jogger was produced as a birthday card, I draw with a marker pen before scanning the image into Photoshop to add colour and highlights.  The Super hero cartoons (drawn for a local business) were dealt with in much the same way but were produced with single, block colours.  The 'Biker' caricature was again drawn with marker pens but was then coloured with pastels, which are great fun to use but its not easy to get a good scanned reproduction.

President Obama

There's a theme running here I think... It's not a concious effort to draw political caricatures but, like Gaddafi, Obama has also been in the news alot (not that I sit around watching the news all day).
The first drawing was just a pencil sketch, smudged in roughly blending kind of way. After that I thought I'd try a coloured version. I stretched his face a bit on the colour version because on the news he looked as though he had a wider face...maybe it's just the wide screen TV, the American President looks a bit thinner in the paper. (Maybe it's the stress of the job!)

Colonel Gaddafi

I have wanted to do a Blog for sometime but never got around to doing anything about it.
I like drawing cartoons and caricatures and thought that this would be a good way to show my work whilst keeping a record of my drawings, sketches and doodles at the same time.
Gaddafi (among other people) has been in the news today so I made this fairly quick drawing of him....seems a good enough place to start a Blog.
